Can roof space be more than just a large open wasted area?
The Tshwane Data Centres are a prime example of how to let this open space work for you.  They didn’t just use the space; they added an extra pocket in to their budget.

Open space can cost you a lot of money, especially if you are renting.  Every square meter needs to be used.  Layout and design are therefore important.  In this case, the offices cannot be made smaller.

Load shedding and the continual challenges it presented helped in making the decision.  The roof space could be used to eliminate a monthly expense and become a potential source of income.  It is giving electricity costs a double blow.  Wouldn’t that feel great?

We installed three separate systems at three locations totalling to 312kWp of solar power production.  The systems consist of solar panels, inverters, and batteries.

The solar panels power their daily activities directly and batteries provide power for all after-hours needs.  The grid-tie systems  provide immense savings on  the grid or and diesel generators.

The Battery system has sufficient battery capacity to last them at least 4 hours

The thing about data centres is that they cannot afford any power dips.  The electronic systems are sensitive to fluctuations in power supply and needs a constant clean electricity supply.

The Deye inverters are perfect for this application.  These inverters ensure a seamless transition between power sources.  Thus, promoting longevity of equipment.

Switching to solar power was not only about saving money on their monthly bill but ensuring a clean power supply to ensure the integrity of their equipment.

The Tshwane data centres are now generating their own clean electricity at a lower cost.

Wouldn’t you want to do the same?
