BMI Steel Structures has been in the steel fabrication and erection industry since July 1988. It is a client-based business aiming to maximise efficiency and minimise cost to their clients.
If welding cannot be performed today, the steel won’t go anywhere. The unreliable electricity supply posed a serious threat to the future of their business.
Generators were a popular go-to solution for a short while due to their fairly low initial cost, but with rising fuel prices, the operability became very expensive. Plus, keeping it running also meant someone had to stop working, make sure there was enough fuel and that the main power was switched off, and more.
Neville approached Red Energy and our design team provided a proposal that would redefine the way BMI Steel Structures powered their business.
Initially, we supplied them with a 20kWp solar power system and 25kWh of battery back-up. They didn’t need to work after hours to try and finish projects on time. The power balance, for the first time, was fully in their hands.
At the time of the installation, the primary factor was to eliminate power failures and keep their business running.
Following the first installation which was the factory, the Red Energy team subsequently also installed a 8KVA, 25kWh and 20kWp system at their house, as well.
Becoming self-sufficient increased their ability to deliver projects on time and retain customer trust. Installing a solar power system resulted in an improved track record and credibility as a reliable service provider.
Here’s what we installed:
- 16kW Hybrid Inverters
- 25kW Hybrid Inverter
- 25kWh Battery Backup
- 40kWp Solar Panels
The basic element of being able to control their own electricity supply has had a clear impact on their future sustainability and a reduced electricity bill.
Going solar was a proclamation, not only to their own team but also to customers, that they are serious about customer service. Solar power reduces operational cost, optimises operational capability and gives you a chance to remain competitive.
